II GRADUATE CONFERENCE OF THE AFRICAN STUDIES SECTION OF THE PORTUGUESE POLITICAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION – APCP
On 18 November 2025, the II Graduate Conference of the African Studies Section of the Portuguese Political Science Association (APCP) will take place at ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL), from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The conference is open to all those interested in African politics. It will be held in a hybrid format and organized around 13 panels and 63 presentations, covering a wide range of topics, including liberation movements and postcolonial debates, armed conflicts and political violence, the functioning of political regimes, development and cooperation, foreign policy, migration and mobility.
The closing session will feature Professor Althea Rivas (SOAS – University of London), who will deliver a keynote lecture entitled “Remembering, Reclaiming and Re-envisioning – Transformation, Justice and Joy”.
